Mentoring is a conversation with a purpose. 

As a mentor, you might guide your mentee in identifying and achieving professional goals, develop their soft skills and/or advise on workplace challenges. This session is designed to outline the key principles of mentoring and the best strategies available to help mentors effect real change. 

This session is virtual and designed to support and complement mentoring programmes running both in-house and cross-company, as well as those through our partnership organisations. 

During this workshop we will discuss: 

● Roles of a Mentor

● Giving meetings a process

● Preparation: Agenda; Action Points; Feedback.

● Phases of the Mentoring relationship: Building rapport; Setting direction; Progression; Wrapping Up; Moving on.

● Building rapport and developing trust.

● The Mentoring agreement.

● Setting Direction.

● Expectations.

● Appropriate focus.

● Setting boundaries.

About Paula Brennan: Paula developed her leadership, coaching and mentoring expertise whilst working with cross-cultural organisations both in the UK and around the world, spending the last ten years with Save the Children, the world’s first and largest independent child rights organisation. Previously, Paula worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and Oxfam, where she coached on an internal leadership programme for staff around the world.

Paula is a trained coach. She holds a PG Cert in Organisational Coaching and Mentoring for Leadership, is a qualified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner and has trained as a Team Coach.
